Commercial CCTV Installation Ormskirk, Liverpool & Manchester

Accredited commercial CCTV installation across Ormskirk, Liverpool, Manchester & the North West. HD and 4K systems, remote monitoring.

commercial CCTV installation experts

We design, install and maintain commercial CCTV systems across Ormskirk, Liverpool and Manchester. From single camera retail units to multi site IP networks with remote monitoring, we specify systems that give you usable evidence rather than unusable footage, and set them up to meet your obligations under UK GDPR. Based in Ormskirk, with engineers covering Merseyside, Greater Manchester and West Lancashire.

Types of commercial CCTV we install & maintain

We install and maintain the full range of commercial CCTV systems. The right specification depends on what you need the footage to do: deter, monitor, or identify someone well enough to support a prosecution. We not just install but also maintain systems and can usually take on and expand an existing system rather than replacing it

IP network CCTV

IP cameras deliver the resolution needed to actually identify a person rather than simply record that someone was there. Footage runs over your network or a dedicated cabled infrastructure, which makes remote viewing, multi site access and future expansion straightforward. Adding a camera becomes a cable run and a licence rather than a new system. This is the default specification for most new commercial installations.

Existing & HD analogue upgrades

If you already have coaxial cabling in place, HD over coax cameras let you move from ageing analogue images to genuinely usable HD footage without rewiring the building. It costs a fraction of a full IP installation and causes far less disruption, which often makes it the sensible choice for older premises, leased units, or sites where a full replacement cannot be justified this budget year.

Wireless & temporary CCTV

Where cabling is not practical or the requirement is not permanent, such as construction compounds, yards, car parks, listed buildings and premises mid refurbishment, wireless and redeployable systems provide coverage with minimal installation. Battery and solar powered options cover locations with no mains supply, and units can be moved as the site changes.

Remotely Monitored CCTV

Cameras connected to a monitoring centre are watched in real time and not after the event. Detection triggers an operator to view the camera live, issue an audio warning through on site speakers, and escalate to keyholders or police. Live verification is also what keeps police response viable, because a confirmed human sighting carries weight that an unverified signal does not.

CCTV image quality & legal compliance

Two questions decide whether a commercial CCTV system is fit for purpose. Is the image good enough to be useful, and is the system set up lawfully. Both are settled at design stage, and both cost far more to fix afterwards.

Identify

BS EN 62676 sets out how much image detail a camera needs for a given task, measured in pixels per metre across the scene. Detecting that a person is present needs far less than recognising someone you know, which in turn needs far less than identifying a stranger from footage alone. Most disappointing CCTV is not broken. It was specified for detection and is being asked to do identification. We set the task per camera at survey, then specify to it.

Data

Commercial CCTV records personal data, which makes you a data controller under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. In practice that means a lawful basis for recording, clear signage, a defined retention period, controlled access to footage, and the ability to respond to a subject access request within a month. We configure retention and access properly at handover and provide the documentation to support it.

Code

The Code issued under the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 sets twelve guiding principles for surveillance camera use. It binds police and local authorities directly, and the ICO expects private organisations to follow it as best practice. Contrary to what is sometimes claimed, it has not been abolished. The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 amended the data protection framework around it rather than replacing it, and a new complaints handling duty applies from June 2026.

commerical premises we protect & maintain

We install and maintain commercial CCTV across a wide range of premises throughout the North West. If you do not see your premises listed, get in touch and we will confirm whether we can help with your project.

Warehousing and distribution

Loading bay and yard coverage, ANPR on vehicle entrances, and camera positioning that supports goods in disputes as well as security. Integration with intruder detection for alarm verification.

Retail units

Till point coverage at identification quality, shop floor and stockroom cameras, and footage retrieval that does not need a call out every time you have an incident to review.

offices

Entrance and reception coverage, car park monitoring, and access control integration so entry events and footage can be matched up.

manufacturing

Cameras rated for dust, vapour and temperature extremes, with coverage of plant areas, material stores and vehicle movements.

Schools & Colleges

Perimeter and entrance coverage, holiday period monitoring, and configuration that respects the additional data protection care required where footage involves children.

Healthcare

Entrance, car park and controlled storage coverage, with strict access controls on who can view footage and a documented retention policy.

construction

Redeployable towers and wireless units for compounds, plant and material storage, typically with live monitoring and audio challenge.

car dealerships

External coverage of high value stock held outside, ANPR on entrances, and low light performance that works through the hours the site is unattended.

CCTV monitoring & response

A recorded system tells you what happened. A monitored system lets someone act while it is still happening. What that looks like depends on how the site is configured and what level of response you need.

Recorded & Remote Access

Footage is recorded locally and available to you on a phone or desktop from anywhere. Suitable where CCTV is there to provide evidence after an incident rather than prevent one, and it is the baseline for most commercial sites.

Live real time & monitored CCTV

Detection triggers an operator at a monitoring centre to view the camera live and assess what is actually happening. Most activations are resolved without anyone attending, which is the point.

Audio challenge & escalation

Where an intrusion is confirmed, operators can issue a live audio warning through on site speakers, which ends a significant proportion of incidents on the spot. Where it does not, they escalate to your keyholders or request police attendance with a confirmed sighting behind it.

Recent local CCTV Installations

.We’re fortunate to have worked on some very exciting projects here is just a small sample.

We were delighted to work with Halstead Town Council on the design and installation of a new CCTV system across their allotment site, protecting plot holders and their sheds from the ongoing threat of vandalism and theft. The setup includes weatherproof HD cameras positioned to cover key access points and communal areas, night vision for out of hours monitoring, and secure remote viewing so the council can check the site at any time. A practical, well planned system giving the local community peace of mind and their allotments the protection they deserve.

We were pleased to support Widnes Foodbank, part of the Trussell Trust network, with the design and installation of a new CCTV system across their sites. Covering their Crossing Point distribution centre, warehouse and office, the setup gives the charity round the clock visibility of stock, deliveries and access points, protecting the donations that go on to feed families in crisis right across the local community. HD cameras, secure remote viewing and a system built to fit the modest budget of a working charity, a small job for us, but one that helps keep a vital service running safely.

FAQ

Common questions we get asked

Choosing an electrical contractor professional comes with plenty of questions. Here are the ones we get asked the most, and we are always happy to answer anything else before you commit to anything

How many cameras does my business need?

Fewer than most people expect, positioned better than most people expect. Coverage is driven by what each position needs to achieve rather than by camera count. Four well placed cameras at the right resolution will outperform twelve poorly sited ones. We work this out at survey and quote against it.

It depends on the job each camera is doing. Detecting movement across a yard needs far less detail than identifying an unknown face at a doorway. BS EN 62676 defines this in pixels per metre, and we specify each camera to its intended task rather than applying one resolution across the site.

Long enough to be useful, no longer than you can justify. Thirty days is a common commercial retention period, but there is no fixed legal figure. UK GDPR requires you to set a period appropriate to your purpose and stick to it. We configure retention at handover and document it.

Yes. Clear, visible signage is a requirement under UK data protection law, stating that recording is taking place, who is responsible and how to get in touch. We supply compliant signage as part of the installation.

Yes. Recording identifiable people makes you a data controller, which brings obligations around lawful basis, signage, retention, access control and responding to subject access requests within a month. We set the system up to support all of this and hand over the documentation with it.

Usually, yes. If the cabling is sound we can often upgrade the cameras and recorder without rewiring, and we are happy to maintain a system someone else installed. We will survey it first and tell you honestly whether it is worth keeping or replacing.

Yes. All the systems we install support secure remote viewing from a phone, tablet or desktop, with user permissions so staff only see what they need to. We configure this and train you on it at handover.

Related Services

An intruder alarm is usually one part of a site’s security. We install and maintain the rest of it too, which means one contractor, one point of contact and systems that are designed to work together rather than bolted alongside each other.

Intruder detection is frequently installed alongside CCTV, particularly where an insurer specifies a graded system or where cameras alone cannot trigger a response out of hours.

handle who gets in during trading hours, while the intruder alarm handles everything outside them the two integrate so that a valid card entry can automatically unset a zone.

Fire alarms are often on the same contract and the same maintenance schedule.
